Projects

In addition to the usual political activity, we try to achieve change through various projects, ranging from environmental requalification to sustainable touristic reception and from education and trainings to the preservation of biodiversity.

The aim of these projects is to show to our district that there is a way of living that is compatible with respecting our surroundings. To show it, it’s not enough just to tell it, the need is to prove it through activities and projects that will change our reality and contribute to slowly transform our culture and our unsustainable habits.

Many of these projects are based on our own resources and on the free availability of our volunteers. Other projects, combine such participation to loans obtained through some private foundations or funding from the European Community: in this case, only the credibility and substantiality of the project, together with its ability to have an impact on the territory, ensure Legambiente Lecco to collect these funds, which are never for granted and are obtained through a competition with other projects of other entities. Lastly, the Parco Monte Barro Hostel project has also made possible to give a job to two young people who were hired by Legambiente Lecco to manage the hostel, showing that another way of doing business is not just theoretical.
